If you want to have more joy and be more productive in your business you need to embrace the concept of, ‘Doing Your Best.’

What’s your take? How do you know when you’ve done your best? Do you struggle with perfectionism? Share your thoughts below in the comments section.
The “do your best” philosophy is fine as far as it goes, but OTOH, there are far too many businesses these days whose “best” (IF that is what they’re doing) is, to put it bluntly, not good enough.
In fact, as Anita Roddick said: “Good enough never is”
Where small businesses in particular go wrong is in not recognising the things in which they lack the necessary skills and for which ought to avail themselves of the services of someone who does have the requisite skills. Few people are good at everything and it’s always “best” to focus your own efforts on those things at which you most excel.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts Nigel. I agree that it’s best to focus on what you’re really good at doing. There are so many ways to outsource these days, I wrote a post about this recently https://www.fireflycoaching.com/9-outsourcing-options-you-should-not-ignore/. Again, many thanks for sharing and all the best.
I love this article because I agree being perfect, #notperfect, gets in or way of progressing. Doing our best in that moment offers so much freedom to create and give permission to do so. I also really enjoyed that book, the Four Agreements. Brilliant to apply it to business! x
Thank you for your comments, Susan! You’re so right, releasing the need for perfection does offer freedom. Freedom to move forward and take action. Happy to hear you’re a fan of the book as well. Onward!
Thanks for this video Stephanie! This tip is so relevant for professional life (and personal life!). It’s so easy to get caught up in looking at what other business owners are doing and compare ourselves to them. I also really appreciated that you connected it to perfectionism and how that can suck the energy and joy out of us. I often find myself using the mantra “done is better than perfect!”
Appreciate your feedback, Melissa! Indeed, comparison is a slippery slope. I love your mantra, done is always better than perfect. Especially since perfection doesn’t really exist. Many thanks for sharing.
