How to Determine the Best Route to Your Ideal Clients

Let’s say you are in Amsterdam and you want to visit the remarkable Rijksmuseum.

There are many routes and means to get there so you have to evaluate all of your options to see what the best way is for you.

Every possibility has its advantages and disadvantages and it has a lot to do with personal preference.

You could walk because you’re not in a hurry and you enjoy walking and looking around the city on the way there.

Maybe you’re in a hurry so you decide to take a taxi even though that is more expensive.

Or it could be that you don’t feel like walking so you take the tram, which is faster than walking and cheaper than a taxi.

You could also take a boat if you want a scenic view and you have time to spare.

Riding a bike could be your preference if you want a fast, cheap, and direct route that you control.

Driving is another option, which is fast but will require expensive parking.

The point is that there are many modes of transportation, alternative routes, variations in time, and differences in costs to accomplish the same journey.

The same thing applies to your marketing. There are many ways to reach your ideal clients and you need to know which routes are the most effective for you and your business.

What Are Your Best Marketing Strategies?

Are you clear about the best routes for your marketing?

What are you three, most effective marketing strategies that lead you to your ideal clients?

The majority of small business owners don’t have an answer to that question when I ask them.

So if you don’t know, you’re not the only one.

The reason you need to know is somewhat obvious.

When you know the best way to reach more clients, you can do more of that and your business will grow.

I know how ‘busy’ you are, we all are. And if you take the time, even if it’s just 20 minutes, to think about this and do some quick analysis – you’ll be setting yourself up to have more clients with less stress and effort.

How Do Your Ideal Clients Find You?

A majority of marketing activities fit into one of the categories below.

2. Writing (your ezine, blog posts, guest blog posts)

3. Networking (offline and online – including social media)

4. Referrals

5. Strategic Alliance Partnerships

6. Advertising (Google AdWords, Facebook Ads, postcards, etc.)

I hope you’re starting to see the benefit of investing your time and attention in understanding the marketing strategies that are the best routes to reach your ideal clients.

Once you’ve identified your top marketing strategies, simply increase the volume on those activities.

And yes, this may mean you need to give up some other marketing activities to have the time and resources to do this.

That’s OK, because if you’re only focused on the most effective marketing strategies, you won’t be wasting your efforts on things that may not be working anyway.

Make the decision to figure this out and enjoy the clarity and prosperity that knowing this brings to you and your business.
