As a Business Owner, a lot of your time is focused on the big things.
And so sometimes the seemingly little things may get neglected.
I know youβre really good at what you do.
But potential new clients who donβt know you may not get the chance to find out how good you are because they might get put off by small things. Things youβre not even aware of.
Small things add up in both directions, positive and negative.
As BrenΓ© Brown says, βTrust is built in very small moments.β You can read more about this in my post, Forget About Marketing and Focus on Building Trust.
Here are three small things that you may be doing that unknowingly send signals to potential clients that you arenβt trustworthy.

This video topic got my attention! Luckily these are all things I can fix fast. The first tip I think about often and I’m glad you brought it up. I use my phone for video making these days. One tip I got a long time ago is to flip your phone around so you don’t see yourself. Then you only have one option to speak to the camera “dot”. I personally have gotten use to looking at the camera dot directly. I do like the post-it note as a way to remind me. Thank you Stephanie. These are great tips.
What a great tip, Susan! Thank you for sharing it. Love the videos you’re making.
